PlayStation Meeting meeting set for 6.00am GMT Thursday

Sony’s PlayStation Meeting, where it’s expected that PSP2 will be announced, will begin in on Thursday afternoon at 3.00pm JPST, which is 6.00am GMT.
The info comes from Nikkei Trendy in a tweet. Its sister paper, Nihon Keizai Shimbun, said yesterday that the device would feature built-in 3G and an OLED screen.
VG247 was the first site in the world to show pictures of a PSP2 dev kit.
The device is expected to launch this year.
A PlayStation branded phone, which has had its form factor and features splattered all over the internet in recent months, is reported to be heading for a Mobile World Congress reveal in February.
Thanks, Andriasang.

The orange colour on the Rift advert, just next to the VG247 logo, is too close to Megaton Orange. It’s confusing me.
6am GMT according to timeanddate.com

This is interesting.
The 3G and OLED screens news turned out to be related to the Xperia Play as opposed to the PSP2. Tokyo Economy Newspaper (I believe that’s what it was called) said that the information released reflected news about the Google android based phone and not the next PSP and said that the news was about a non-gaming device.
The article requires a subscription to read though but they’ve updated it to say that and apologised for it.
“掲載当初,「日本経済新聞において,PSPの次期モデルが米Google社の携帯機器向けソフトウエア・プラットフォーム,Androidを利用すると伝えている」としておりましたが,これはゲーム機の機能を加えた携帯電話機に関する報道で,PSP次期モデルの報道ではありませんでした。 お詫びして訂正いたします。記事は既に修正済みです。 ”
Was their statement.

@J.L. – Yes. Yes it is. I thought Japan was eight hours ahead, not nine. Consider that fixed.

Cool, Adelaide is only an hour & a half ahead so it’ll be 4.30 here

@JC: Ah, well you’re right about the 8 hour thing for seven months of the year – no daylight savings in Japan, you see

But will it be STREAMED?
Or just for the press?

I’d guess the event will be in Japanese, so streaming will probably be useless.
