Nintendo announces “invite-only” 3DS UK tour dates

Nintendo’s announced some 3DS tour dates for the UK, although at the moment only select members of the public will be getting their hands on the new handheld.

According to the Nintendo website, the tour is an invite-only, however the site also adds the company will be announcing more events for everyone very soon, so don’t panic if you don’t fit into the invite criteria.

This round of tours takes place in London and Manchester from Feb 5-6 (GAME, Eurogamer, Club Nintendo members), before moving on to Bristol and Glasgow on Feb 12-13 (Future, HMV, Club Nintendo Members).

Nintendo UK told us last week that it plans on allowing more than 500,000 people to get physical time with 3DS before April.

Nintendo 3DS will land in retail stores March 25 in Europe, and March 27 in the US.

invite only? After saying they want to get into as many hands as possible?

I’m REALLY starting to get annoyed at nintendo’s sony-esque attitude over this fucking handheld

It’s a ridiculous move for them to have made! Is what I would have said, had I not clicked through to the news source, itself.

What you neglected to tell people was what the selection criteria actually was, because, had you done so, the idea would not paint Nintendo in the manner your article, currently does.

Tour dates 1&2 – Eurogamer, Game, Club Nintendo members – a fairly wide, targeted catchment, would you agree?

TD 3&4 – Future, HMV, Club Nintendo – same wide-coverage tactic, amongst the core.

The detail you omitted, would not only alter the article’s tone, but also, in short space, considerably add to its value.

@2 I only clicked on Glasgow and Bristol links as you can see don’t mention GAME or Eurogamer, had I seen these I would of course have mentioned them.

So I will update the post now. Thanks.
