Ubisoft to develop Smurfs game based on the feature film

smurfsmovie2011

Ubisoft has announced it will develop and publish the game based on the live-action, CG-animated and 3D movie The Smurfs from Columbia Pictures.

This summer, the Smurfs will make their big screen debut in The Smurfs. In it, Gargamel chases the tiny blue Smurfs out of their village and into the real world version of New York City's Central Park.

Papa Smurf and the rest must find their way back to their magical world before Gargamel tracks them down. We assume Azrael is tagging along with him.

The film was directed by Raja Gosnell and is based on the characters and works of Peyo from the 80s cartoon series, which was based on the comic strip from the late 50s.

The Smurfs game is scheduled to launch with the release of the feature film on August 3 for DS and Wii.

Thank your lucky stars it's not The Snorks.
