Report - PSP2 to be revealed during Sony's PlayStation Meeting in Japan

Another report is claiming Sony's to unveil PlayStation Portable 2 during its Tokyo press event on January 27 , according to Andriasang, and the event has been confirmed by an analyst as being called "PlayStation Meeting".

This will be the first time Sony has used the PlayStation Meeting title in six years. The previous Meeting was held July 25, 2005 and was where plans for PS3 were unveiled.

The PlayStation Meeting name was revealed in a Tweet by analyst Yasuaki Fujima earlier this week.

Fujima expects "unexpected major announcements" due to both the event's timing and the fact it will take place not long before Sony announces its third quarter earnings on February 3.

He believes this is also Sony's way of taking attention away from 3DS and casting the spotlight on itself.

Earlier in the week, Bloomberg reported that Sony was to announce its PS Phone at the Mobile World Congress in February, so its looking likely we'll have two large back-to-back announcements from the firm.

We'll send a mail on this.
