Report - Nintendo to ship 900,000 3DS units in Europe for launch

3ds

MCV's reporting that Nintendo is to ship 900,000 units of 3DS in Europe in the console's first few weeks at retail, following launch plans being detailed earlier this week.

It reports that Nintendo is looking to sell within the region of 4.5-5 million units by the end of the year.

The info comes "via a number of well-connected parties".

Nintendo confirmed earlier this week that 3DS would launch in Europe on March 25. No price was confirmed by the company, which instead decided to leave costing up to retailers.

UK retailers are to sell the machine in the region of £210-£230. A solid launch line-up also went unannounced at the company's showcase in Amsterdam.

But Nintendo UK boss David Yarnton told VG247 that details on the launch line-up is "not that far away".

The handheld launches in the US for $249 on March 27.
