Nintendo Europe to live-stream Amsterdam 3DS presentation on Wednesday
Nintendo Europe has confirmed it will provide a live video stream of its “3DS presentation” at 3.00pm CET in Amsterdam on Wednesday, in which the company is expected to confirm pricing, dates and line-up for the European launch of 3DS.

VG247 was told expect more details about 3DS today, specifically in relation to whether or not the handheld will be region-locked, but nothing has emerged from Nintendo Europe as yet.
It was apparently confirmed by Nintendo Japan last week that the console is region-specific, but the report has gone unconfirmed up to now.
A March release for 3DS has already been confirmed for both the US and Europe.
The console’s launch conference will begin on Wednesday at 3.00pm CET and will go on for an hour, finishing at 4.00pm CET.
Following that, media will get the chance to get hands-on sessions with launch titles, conduct one-on-one interviews and take part in roundtables.
Nintendo UK boss David Yarnton and senior British marketeers will be in attendance. It’s unknown yet who’ll make the trip from the development side.
VG247 will, of course, bring you all the news from the European event as it happens.
Nintendo of America is also set to host a similar event in New York on Wednesday, where NoA president Reggie Fils-Aime will precide over proceedings.
Nintendo will also probably be quick to dispell any shortage worries for the console at said events, following a report overnight that the shipment numbers for the console at launch in Japan will be a third of those expected.
3DS launches in Japan on February 26.

Although I’m too particularly fussed about the machine being region locked, I can understand why people are disappointed.
Apart from greater control over release timings and content for individual countries, what are the benefits to Nintendo in region locking their machine? Surely a game sold anywhere is better than no game sold at all?

@4 the key thing to me is, some games regardless of lok or ot wont get released in europe at all. Why should i be excluded from such a twatish move to block a game i can only get via import, the ps2 is a bitch for this
