King Arthur II announced, trailered

Paradox just announced a sequel to King Arthur, its weird RPG-RTS hybrid thing.
Apparently, “King Arthur II will feature a new and dark fantasy setting. No longer a valiant ruler, King Arthur is now the Maimed King trying to mend a land almost beyond repair in a stunning new plot.
“More heroic, large scale battles with bigger armies are at reach to defeat more powerful foes. Intense boss fights never seen before promise to pit hero’s forces against unique and terrifying enemies.
“A new wide range of camera control options, revised animations and an extensive tutorial will provide for the ultimate gaming experience.”
Bonanza. It’s developed by Neocore, which released the original in 2009.
There’s no date. But there are moving pictures. See below.
Paradox said earlier this month that it’s to unveil seven new games in January.

It’s no more of a “weird hybrid” than Warcraft III… Think Medieval 2: Total War but with a story and your generals level up to increase their attributes and get new skills. And lots of text-based adventure type quests on the campaign map.

Total War, seriously? At least that series could be recommended for historical accuracy, etc. This adds fucking gargoyles and other creatures to the Arthur mythos, which does make it feel like it’s suspended in disbelief. I’m still waiting for a real Arthur game that’s faithful to the legend…
