Kinect hacked to control humanoid robots

It's all very well to trade in your controller, keyboard and mouse, or even the need to actually play for Kinect's hand waving approach, but the genuinely useful hacks are a bit thin on the ground.

Until now. What could possibly have more real world application than a control system for (potentially) giant robots? I submit: nothing.

The video below demonstrates the V-Sido real-time control system for humanoids as modelled by a ... GR-001(RS303,RS304) HPI. Which I presume is some kind of robot, right, since there it is.

The future is now and it's got giant robot battles in it. Aww yiss.
