Crytek hiring for iOS developer to work on iPad and iPhone project

Crytek has listed a job opening for an iPhone / iPad Developer on on Develop's Job Spotlight.

The listing doesn't mention if the position is for gaming or not, but it is assumed, obviously.

The position is for the office in Germany, and the candidate must be able to design and develop "complex, integrated iPhone/iPad applications" and must support and working with "testers with development and execution of test plans".

Owning "the development of one or more iPhone/iPad applications, from specification through design, coding, debugging, and deployment" is also required, and so is "strong iOS (especially iPhone/iPad) development experience".

Last year Crytek CEO Cevat Yerli told Develop: "The social and mobile spaces are certainly something we’ve been looking at for a while now”, though he had qualms with the App Store price model. I think the App Store changes the perception of game prices, which I really don’t like. It’s pushing out games at such a low price that it distorts the perception of what a game should be priced at.

“iPad and iPhone are both doing a real disservice to game prices by allowing games at such low price points – it is an issue the industry has to address at some point.”

So, either the firm has come to terms with it, or they plan on making their game cost more than the base price. We won't know until something is released or announced.

Thanks, Anders.
