F.E.A.R. 3 developer video talks co-op, abilities, fragile alliance

alamscary

Warner has release another behind the scenes developer diary for F.E.A.R. 3, and in it, the team talks about Point Man and Paxton Fettel joining forces in co-op.

Using asymmetrical gameplay players can use abilities which are much different than their partner’s, and even decide whether or not to work together or against one another.

You can find out all about it below, courtesy of Ve3tro.

Recently delayed into May, upon release, F.E.A.R. 3 will land on PC, PS3, and Xbox 360. There’s also a Collector’s Edition out there you can get, which features a really scary, pregnant Alma. Yikes.

Psychotic little girls are always scarier, because grown women are automatically psychotic, and men are used to it by now.

@3 The devs are calling it “divergent co-op”, which is being toted as a type of “adversarial co-op” where players will be able to control either Point Man or Fettel.

Fettel can assist Point Man, yet players can decide to do their own thing as well without helping the other out.

Meh, its just a lame score system. In the end, if you’re just playing to beat the game theres no reason to play against each other. Theres the same common goal.

And one of the players has slowmo? Slowmo in coop? :/ It would be cool if it atleast didnt affect Fettel, like he could move around at normal speed whilst everything else around him was slowed down, but otherwise it sounds like abit of a pain.

Could someone from VG247 ping Monolith games and see what their up to they’ve been very quiet for a good while now.

Day1 are doing FEAR3 not Monolith, I hope Monolith haven’t morphed into Warner Brothers games entirely.
