Star Trek Online: Cryptic provides new details on Episode 1 of Series 3

Cryptic has released some information on upcoming Feature Episodes for Star Trek Online, which are grouped into Series and "tied closely together to comprise one story arc".

For Series 3: Cloaked Intentions, battles between former allies threaten to destroy the Romulan Star Empire and players must find the heart of the conflict before takes over the entire quadrant.

Episode 1 of Series 3 is titled The Vault, and in it the crew is tossed into a "tight situation" while investigating an energy surge on a Romulan starbase which has been abandoned.

The Episode is set to go live on Saturday, January 29.

Episodes 2-5 will be released every Saturday at 11am PST until February 26, and are available indefinitely for any character of any faction.

Each Series is comprised of several episodes in a story chain. You must complete the first episode before you can move on to the next. Contacts for each Episode and the sector they are located in are still to be announced, so keep up with the goings on through the game's official site.

All Series content is available to players of any level in both factions at no cost.

Cryptic has other plans for Star Trek Online this year, so players should expect more information on new ship models as well as "exciting ways to use shuttles” soon.
