Activision celebrates Megadeth and Soundgarden Grammy nods with free Black Rain MP3

As two of the tracks included in Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock have been nominated for Grammy Awards, it's been decided to celebrate by offering Soundgarden's Black Rain as a free MP3 download this weekend.

The nominated songs are Megadeth's "Sudden Death" and Soundgarden's "Black Rain," both of which are up for a Best Metal Performance and Best Hard Rock Performance, respectively.

Megadeth's tune was inspired by, composed exclusively for, and debuted in Warriors of Rock, while Soundgarden's previously recorded "Black Rain" was finished for inclusion in the game.

Because of this, Activision is making Black Rain available as a free MP3 download exclusively to all of Guitar Hero's over 2 million fans on Facebook.

The free download will begin this Friday, January 14, at 12.01am EST and end Sunday, January 16 at 11.59pm EST.
