SCEE "aware" of PlayTV issues, hopes to have a solution "shortly"

SCEE has said its is aware of a system-crashing bug plaguing PlayTV and it is working on the matter.

Speaking with Joystiq, a SCEE representative told the site the issue occurred after user applied the most recent paid update to the HDTV DVR device.

"We are aware that since the latest PlayTV update, certain issues have arisen," said the representative. "We are working to fix these [issues] and hope to have a solution very shortly."

A Joystiq reader has suggested users fix the issue by reinstalling PlayTV, but warned that doing so would erase all data, including the premium update.

PlayTV was first announced at the Leipzig Games Convention in 2007, and last summer, Studio Cambridge senior producer Mark Green SPOnG it was currently at work on PlayTV 2 as well as creating updates for the existing model.
