First info on Telltale’s Jurassic Park gets out: it’s inspired by Heavy Rain

The first info on Telltale’s telling of Jurassic Park has gotten out via the latest issue of Game Informer, where it’s said to be inspired by Quantic Dream’s Heavy Rain.

The story is meant to be a sequel to the first film, although some points will take place during the first movie.

Players will face familiar enemies like mercenaries, smugglers and, according to The Escapist, “a new glowing-eyed nocturnal dinosaur threat”.

The feature reveals that IP holder Universal didn’t want another first-person shooter, and instead landed at adventure specialist Telltale’s door.

The developer “realizes this, and is going above and beyond to develop something new” with the title.

The game will still be an adventure game at its heart, but with “a bit more spice”. Telltale’s studied the movies and has said it believes that the game must have slower-paced character-building like in Heavy Rain.

Executive director Kevin Boyle says that, while its gameplay is still being crafted, players will have “tense portions that leave players scrambling and possibly performing Heavy Rain style inputs”.

Jurassic Park Adventures will also feature a decision system that is similar to Heavy Rain.

No date, but it’s a five-episode arc on PC and Mac.

I want a Dino Crisis remake, or at least the first 2 released on the Euro/Aussie version of PSN, the original was simply amazing, nothing innovative, but it made the ultimate survival horror game, perfect mix of action, puzzles, ammo conservation & most importantly horror, i remember being around 8 & watching the dinos jumping through windows & crushing down doors, simply amazing, also the first game i remember that contained interactive cutscenes, others probably have before it, but not that i remember off…

I go into DORK mode when games are about Dinosaurs… I remember Jurassic Park Trespasser was the reason I did a PC upgrade way back in the day. Wanted to see all the Jiggly Dinosaur Flesh..LOL..and that Massive, Impressive Physics Engine..OMG..LOL!!!

Now we have Jiggly Storm Troopers in The force Unleased…and Yes just like the Bugs in Trespasser where Barrels floated…In TFU 2 I have crates that are floating, and weird glass breaks that end up looking like Taffy…LOL

I hope this game is good! I want it, because it has Dino’s…LOL

@3, No one in the local area has it listed & international postage is normally more than the game’s worth, not to mention the horrid waiting times.

Just because a game has some QTE doesn’t make it like Heavy Rain. Every game for the past 5 years has done that. I don’t have to elaborate on all the reasons why Heavy Rain was awesome . . . but QTE was definitely not one of them.

Correction, videogames have had QTE since 1983. . .
