EA Partners to co-publish The Secret World, Funcom “leaving options open” on 360 version
Following news this morning that EA is to co-publish upcoming Funcom MMO The Secret World via EA Partners, Funcom’s told VG247 it’s “leaving options open” on a 360 version.
No platforms were mentioned in the press release that went out this morning regarding the EA deal, although the game will release on PC.
A 360 version was also confirmed when TSW was first announced.
Funcom told us that, for now, it’s eye is firmly on the PC SKU.
“Right now we’re focusing on the PC version, but we’re leaving our options open,” a rep told us. “Right now I can’t say more than that.”
EA Partners “thrilled” at publishing deal
“We are thrilled to have the opportunity to work with Funcom, one of the world-leaders in the development of massively multiplayer online games,” said EA Partners boss, David DeMartini.
“We are very excited to be able to take part in the growing online gaming category with such a highly anticipated title as ‘The Secret World’.”
Trond Arne Aas, Funcom’s CEO, added: “The experience and the knowledge that Electronic Arts brings to the table will be instrumental in allowing us to realize the full potential of ‘The Secret World’.”
The modern-day, conspiracy-based MMO will visit real-life locations such as London, New York, Seoul and more.
No date yet has been given for The Secret World.
