Rumor: BioWare VGA teaser is Mass Effect 3, has multiplayer

Its honestly pretty obvious, we can tell its not a new IP by the hints, and ME is pretty much the only IP Bioware have using that type of setting.

who give a shit about Mass Effect 3 multiplayer?! people waiting for the game itself! my guess is that the multiplayer actually slowing down the release date… the same shit with star wars the old republic.

Oh come on. shooting mechanics in ME2 were OK, but they need to improve everything dramatically if they want this franchise to be playable in multiplayer space.

Basically EA or Bioware DISSAPOINTED with ME2 sales and they just want to have a CoD flavour in the game.

Having been playing ME2 earlier today i must admit that the crosshair in the picture from cvg is pretty much identical to the sniper crosshair in ME2

I think if they throw in some clever mp modes this could be good.

What if the Multiplayer is handled by a different studio entirely, just like in case of Medal of Honor? Anything is possible really. Maybe the Multiplayer is entirely different and played in first-person that will suit the CoD audience.

Okay … Now when I think about it, the chances of that happening are quite slim.

@10 I’m sure that multiplayer won’t be handled to another team because Bioware searched for multiplayer engineer guys for their next gen shooter.

Multiplayer with Biotics could be really nice, but no one needs Multiplayer, at least not for ME3. If they want to do a Spin-Off be my guest, but it doesn’t get more single player centric than ME1+2

And I agree with Erthazus (never thought I would say that), but the Shooter controls in ME2 were okay, but last time I played it right after Halo: Reach and it really really sucked in comparison

@15 Objective-based Co-Op Multiplayer is something that fits to the franchise so that might be it. Teasers are probably showing off single player only.

Played both. The first one was kind of fresh and entertaining at it’s time but with terrible texture pop-ins. The second one was extremely repetitive and RPG-wise very boring, IMO at least. I really don’t get all the hype about ME2. :/

Everything else what Mass Effect has done is absolutely wrong on every level. There is just no depth and they just killed what was good in the first game and just made RPG stuff arcadish and shooterized it and forgot to make a decent scripted levels in the game (It’s TPS obviously).

Arguably ME1 and 2 are superior to all those games.

This has me very concerned!

I am not a MP person, but I never really worried, because I knew I had games like Mass Effect that had a deep focused single player game.

I guess the allure of MP and its dollar making map packs are too much to pass up.

Now resources, will be divided up, even it it done by another studio, money that used to be 100% for SP Mass Effect will now have to be broken up.

This could easily ruin Mass Effect for some!

It’s better than a complete Mass Effect MP spin-off really. At least we’ll be getting ME3 sometime soon, and ok..well MP too. I can’t really care at all about that.

As long as the SP experience remains the same and unchanged (like AC:Brotherhood) i’m fine with it.

AC brotherhood was built for multiplayer its like the previous AC just with multiplayer. Mass Effect experience game will be affected because they now not only have to mess with the story, stats, and then make room for multiplayer on the disc. If this is true.

I wish people would just wait and see what the game is going to be before going mental or making massive leaps of assumption.

Mass Effect has always had manual aim shooting. It’s not a far cry to transfer that to a multiplayer experience. All they have to do is rip out the stat based weapon spread (oh my fucking god it pissed me off as a low-level soldier in ME watching PISTOL shots fly so far off from where I was aiming) and they’re half way there.

It is not Mass Effect 3 unless this is advertising the multiplayer aspect, it could be Mass Effect X whatever it’s subtitle will be but it will not be Mass Effect 3 as in the final part of the trilogy completing Shepards story…I’m still thinking it’s either some Mass Effect prequel spin off or a totally unrelated IP…

“What If..” the industry actually created these, “Leaks, Speculation, and Rumors” just to see the type of feedback they will get back from the community before they do something.

Plus, Remember this Industry THRIVES on rumors like this, VG247 post Rumors on a regular basis, and gets a buzz going around an IP…it really is good for business.
