Anarchy mode in Bulletstorm is “not like Nazi Zombies where you just have to survive”, says Bleszinski

Bulletstorm previews are hitting the net today, and to get you even more pumped for the crazy looking shooter, the US PS Blog has posted a mini-interview with Epics’ Cliff Bleszinski answering a few questions about the game.

Speaking with Sony, Bleszinski said he wasn’t sure whether there would be a public beta test for the game or not, but he has “a feeling you may get hands-on with BulletStorm at some point”, potentially without buying it. We’ll all just have to “wait and see” and be a bit patient for more on that as well.

Just because there’s the game hasn’t gone into beta just yet, though, doesn’t mean it’s because Epic dislikes them.

“There’s a difference between a beta and a demo. You have to be careful,” said Bleszinski. “Sometimes certain gamers might play the beta and then feel like they’ve had enough. Lately, I’ve come to realize there’s a lot of value in doing a beta, especially with online multiplayer. Gamers get to feel like VIPs, they can suss out issues and contribute to make a more solid product, and you get a little hype bubble before the game hits.

“So I’m more of a fan of betas now than I ever have been.”

That mean’s there’s still hope, and something we can cling to at any rate.

Previews for the multiplayer portion have revealed that instead of a Versus mode, the game will instead contain one called Anarchy which is basically a survival mode where you and three of your pals go up against waves of enemies which have to be killed in specific ways to gain skill points.

Bleszinski said Anarchy is “not like Nazi Zombies where you just have to survive”, which is a good thing.

Bulletstorm is out in February for PC, PS3, and Xbox 360.

@1 Nothing.

Pray that at least it will be a decent… Xbox 360 port.

PS: I like how Playstation Blog speaks with Cliff Blezinski, after an interview with magazine where he said that Ps3 controller is SHIT.
God… Cliff is such a douche, but a great game designer no doubt.

“truth = bad, your right!”

It’s not truth. It’s a subjective thing.

Yeah, totally subjective :D

It’s only a subjective thing as long as you don’t know what you’re talking about.

Ergonomics is a very delicate science.

I’ve heard loads of people trashtalking the Dualshock 3, including reviewers, and I personally hate the Dualshock 2 I have on my PS2. I haven’t had playsessions long enough to warrant cramps, but I’ve heard of it happening quite a few times.

That’s certainly not factual in any way, but when I get a PS3, my first purchase is going to be the 360 shaped controller.

If you are playing Shooters and if you have big hands than Ps3 controller is not for you.

Ps3 controller is perfect for what it is. I have the only problem with triggers. That was a big mistake. Everything else is absolutely fine.

I can’t play fighting or slashers with Xbox 360 controller for example, while with Ps3 controller it’s a much better thing.

There is a reason why PS3 controller never changed. Because it is perfect for what it is.

Big example: Playing Street Fighter on the Xbox 360 is impossible for players that are in to the fighters.

@M2Kx, than prove me that i’m wrong.

I’m just gunna jump right in here and say firstly all controllers will eventually give you cramp if you don’t stretch your fingers here and there while playing and second, I’ve got a PS3 control for my PS3(obviously) and an Xbox controller for my pc. Me personally I prefer the PS3 controller as my hands can start to hurt after playing an hour with an Xbox controller. It all depends on your own preference. The Xbox controller isn’t better than the PS3 controller and the PS3 controller isn’t better with the Xbox controller. Whatever you started playing games with will most likely be your desired controller.

@Yoshi, i agree completely. I actually don’t have problems with Xbox 360 controller and with Ps3 controller.
Ps3 controller is fine by me because i have not big hands and it’s fits absolutely perfect in my hands.
While Xbox 360 controller is the same. Wished that D-Pad would be better. Everything else feels absolutely fine.

“@M2Kx, than prove me that i’m wrong.”

There’s nothing to prove, if you’re a normal/big sized guy, you just can’t play with this controller. (not to mention the analog sticks or the triggers)

I thank god that adapters and better 3rd party controllers where invented for the PS!

Yeah ps controllers are just no good for me, maybe if they swapped the placement of the d-pad and analog stick. As it is now I struggle to play anything on that non ergonomic piece of shit. I need an adapter badly. Edit: I am a rather large man though (about 6’7″ 250 lbs.)

@M2Kx i’m a normal guy and i can play with Ps3 controller just fine. Without any problem. There are a lot of people who can play with it just fine, same goes to the Xbox controller.

Yes, triggers is the issue. But so is a D-Pad in Xbox 360 controller.
