LBP2 won’t support 3D, says SCEA

Sony’s confirmed that LittleBigPlanet 2 won’t support 3D tech when it releases next month.

“Sorry, no 3D this time around,” read a comment from SCEA’s Mark Valledor.

Sony announced at E3, according to EG, that the Media Molecule platformer was confirmed for the tech.

That, however, ain’t happening now. It’s all 2D now for Sackboy.

LBP2 releases on January 18 in the US. No EU date yet.

Is that the glasses kind of 3D or the in game 3D environment kind of 3D?

I never felt that the 3D stuff was a big deal. Too expensive and too much hassle. Someday when they perfect it they should reintroduce it.

@3 Actually you should go to the local PC store and see Nvidia 3D demos and you will be surprised by the quality.

I bet I wouldn’t be suprised with the price of that Nvidai hardware tho.

My two biggest problems with 3D at this point are price and combersume use(Glasses are a joke). If/when those two problems are fixed across the board, I will likly take the plunge.
