FFXIII, MW2, GoWIII big winners at PlayStation Awards
Final Fantasy XIII won big at last night’s PlayStation Awards, getting the Platinum award.
The Square RPG was the only PS3 game that walked away with the prize at last night’s ceremony. The award is only given if a title has shipped 1 million units in Japan.
Not just that, the title was in the user choice category as one of the best games of the year alongside Modern Warfare 2, God of War III, Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker and Yakuza 4.

Must have been some pretty stupid users if they thought FFXIII was one of the best games of the year. It wasn’t even one of the best games of the day it was released.

The awards are given out based on sales, by SCE Japan
for the users choice award winners, the list however, reads like this:
* Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (Square Enix / Activision)
* Final Fantasy XIII (Square Enix)
* Monster Hunter Freedom Unite – PSP the Best reprint (Capcom)

FFXIII remains one the most epic spectacles I have ever seen.
As a game however, its full of hateful, banal sugary characters, a lame disappearing-up-its-own-ass plot and is a ‘corridor RPG’ with a battle system that can be so badly abused that you may as well let the AI do all the work for you.
Oh wait…

@2: You haven’t played FFXIII if you haven’t killed a Long Gui.
Unlike most battles it actually requires some strategy…
But the story… For the love of god, stop it, Japanese. Devil May Cry 3, Bayonetta and FFXIII all have basically SAME DAMN STORY. It doesn’t matter if you call Him Jubeleus, or Orphan, or whatever. It’s same damn story.
But one have to agree that FFXIII looks stunning (only on PS3 though). It’s just a shame that such great graphics is wasted on such stupid, cliched story.
At least they have Long Gui.
