They could release a game similar to this, but starring Raziel and Kain as the main characters, instead of costumes. That would work. Let’s just hope they are trying to tell us something here.

A LoK reboot would be awesome. Harping on here, but I’d love it if they went back to the original single-game plan they had and used that story, because as much as I loved LoK, all the time travel bollocks started to fuck with the story way too much from SR2 onwards, plus they never had level design as fucking epic as SR1 in the other 3 games they made.

We all want more Legacy of Kain, but we’ll probs never get it. I think it’s all a little too smart these days, publishers want all games to be dumb remember.

The chances of an LoK sequel will be pretty much a no-no seeing though the story ends in Blood Omen 2(The sequel to LoK defiance )
I suppose the creative team could think of an additional bollocks storyline.

@14, er, no, Blood Omen 2 (released in 2002) was not a sequel to Defiance (released in 2003), Blood Omen 2 is an alternative history for Kain that arises as a result of all the time travel bollocks in Soul Reaver 2.

The ending to Defiance suggests that the newly purified Kain will go on to save Nosgoth from the fate his younger self would consign it to, which is why we’ve been expecting a game to conclude the elder Kains story arc.

Well, Janos Audron was captured at the end of defiance

Janos Audron was held captive in the doomsday weapon in LoK BO2 (which was by rights, set years after Janos’ death) How do you explain why he is still alive?

In Defiance, Raziel returns the Heart of Darkness to Janos’ body, bringing him back to life. After his revival, the ancient vampire took Raziel to the Citadel of the Ancients. Soon after their arrival, the younger Kain of that time line made his fateful decision, and the Pillars collapsed. The Hylden Lord was then able to take control of Janos’ body. Raziel is defeated by the Hylden-possessed Janos, who then leaves the wraith seeping into the Spectral Realm as he leaves. This leads into the events of Blood Omen 2, in which Janos is an unwilling tool of the Hylden’s scheme to dominate Nosgoth.

@16, right, that explains how BO2 came to be, but it doesn’t resolve the story because any way you look at it the pillars are still corrupt, the Elder God still lives and Kain ain’t finished.

If there was/is a continuation of the story they’d have to do it without Tony Jay (Elder God) since he died in 2006.

Allegedly, Crystal Dynamics were six months into production of a game called Legacy of Kain – The Dark Prophecy (A proposed sequel to defiance) before the project was cancelled by Eidos.

Just checked on Simon Templeman’s IMDB page. Due to the recent(ish)layout change… you can’t see current or unfinished projects like you used to.

Only the first Soul Reaver was on the DC, wasn’t it? And even that was just a PSOne conversion.

But… but… but… I’m not going to fight with the DC fans this time, because we can all agree that Soul Reaver was ‘the fucking nuts’. And I want MORE! Specifically Soul Reaver, the Legacy of Kain games were great too but Raziel pwned.
