Getting Kinect for Christmas? You may want to get a move on.

Xbox boss Don Mattrick’s said in a session at the Web 2.0 summit this week that anyone buying Kinect for Christmas should do so “by the end of this week.”

His comments came in a joint talk with Activision boss Bobby Kotick.

Earlier this week, Mattrick said the motion-sensing camera had sold 1 million units within its first ten days on sale in the US.

Mattrick also jokingly said in the Web 2.0 talk that Microsoft had spent what “felt like in excess of a billion” when asked how much the company spent on advertising Kinect.

Microsoft said in the past it was spending $500 million on advetising for the device.

Thanks, Tech Crunch.

is boom blox the game they showed first ages ago? personally i would have thought something like that would come free with kinect and that paint one they showed.
i wouldnt mind getting one but as i use my console in my bedroom, there isnt enough room to move about and i dont want to have to take my console downstairs everytime i wanna use kinect.

No it’s a great Wii title by EA – one of the few that actually tried to make a game based on the controller rather than shoe horn the controller into a game. Worked really well and a sequel on Wii, Move and Kinect would seem to be a no brainer – make it so EA!
