343 Industries hiring level designer and artist to “help breathe a fresh vision into a new Halo experience”

halowars9

Microsoft’s put out a call for a Senior Technical Artist to “help breathe a fresh vision into a new Halo experience”.

That was last night. Today, according to a tweet from lead designer Scott Warner, the firm is also looking to hire level and mission designers.

Here’s the tweet in full:

One more game job related post: I need level/mission designers. I want to personally reverse this layoff trend and HIRE PEOPLE. Contact me

He also tweeted that when the Pandemic layoffs hit “exactly one year ago”, it allowed the firm to “pick up close to 20 very talented developers”. That’s good to hear.

Last night we told you about MS’s official hiring site listing a November 12 call for a senior tech artist.

Not much else is revealed, but here is the description in case you are thinking of applying:

We are looking for a highly-qualified candidate for the position of Senior Technical Artist. The Senior Technical Artist will play a significant role in establishing and maintaining the production pipelines. The ideal candidate will be able to work collaboratively with Art and Development teams to help bring our story alive and push the medium forward.

Now that Bungie’s moved on to Activision, it’s all up to 343 to keep your Halo juices flowing. Hopefully soon we;ll find out exactly what those juices entail.

Until then, best keep yourselves occupied with Halo: Reach.

Thanks, Mike.

Yep Activision.

Although not really a move either. Just a deal.

It’s just the article says EA which confused me. Curse you Steph confusing us (me)!

God Sorry. @1 & @2 and everyone else. And yeah, it moved from “a deal with MS” to a “deal with Activision”. A deal is a deal is a deal. God I am tired.

Applicant: Hi guys I’m pumped to be here & put some of my ideas forward on how to really refresh the Halo brand. A game I love!
Microsoft: Do any of these ideas involve Kinnect?

Halo has a story? I mean, wow…

@10 You don’t know of the Story, because the books are written in english.

@11, Thank god that i can’t read in english books for 9-14 year old faggots like you that never read or saw a good classic Sci-fi books from the authors like A,B Strugatskies, Frank Herbert, Richard Morgan and e.t.c.

@11 So you need to read the books to understand the story of the game? Something not right there…

@12 whats that, you already read in your kindergarden? Try Anthony Burgess, Arthur C. Clarke and Douglas Adams while you’re swaggering bullshit.

@13 nah, course not. But obviously halo has a story and the books are building the universe. Some call it merchandise, others call it milking. Matter of taste.

Ertha, I thought you already get the and etc. stuff? etc. stands for et cetera, is latin and means “and so forth”. Drop the dots while you’re at it. ;-)

Story doesn’t really matter. At the heart of it is the best shooter I’ve played. Halo keeps raising the bar and people feel threatened by it.

Been like this for 9 years now.

@manamana, that just shows that you don’t even read books at all. Nice failure there.
Anthony Burgess works are philosophical novels with satire or historical fictions, not sci-fi or science fiction you dumbass. (except others two)

Want to fail again? This is a Halo fanbase? :3

@Mike, “Halo keeps raising the bar ”

For example?

*Facepalm* yeah kiddo…so what? Did you need to google Burgess? Of course he is no Sci-Fi author. But what he wrote was mindblowing, even for kids like you. When you are in need of the real Sci-Fi stuff get Stanislaw Lem. I mean for real. But don’t let us start on name dropping contests, it will lead to nothing. Really, what is wrong with you, going harsh at people all the time?

The last time Halo raised the bar for *console* shooters was with Halo2 & only then for its multiplayer. Since then The Orange Box has set the standard for story in a fps & COD4′s multiplayer is still unbeaten. Imo :D
If we’re dropping sci-fi names can I recommend Neal Ashers The Skinner & John Scalzi’s Old Man’s War. Both awesome.

Nothing comes even close to HL, that’s for shure. BFBC2 is the best MP for me, sold MW2 after that. Lol. And I never heard of Asher, will check him out. I’ve listened to Bradburys “Mars chronicles” audiobook past week, crazy stuff, but very inspiring …

Reach has a really dull campaign, ODST was way better. they should go back to Bungie’s previous approach or else just drop it altogether.

They should change gameplay altogether you know, make it more tactical like BIA,R6V,or Freedom Fighters.

I would enjoy playing a squad based Halo game, maybe play as the covenant again.

I *still* cannot figure out what is it with Halo that brings the worst out of some people…
