BioWare teases its game reveal a bit further

BioWare is teasing us to death with its reveal coming to the VGAs on December 11, and as if a teaser image wasn’t enough, now the company has tweeted a Quickmark.
The Quickmark is pictured above and can be translated to the following binary code: 001101010011010100101110001110000011010000110101.
RockPaperShotgun translated the binary to text, and it comes out with the atomic weight of iron with the numbers 55.845, which is the atomic weight of iron and as well all known iron makes steel.
Steel is also a word in “Shattered Steel” which is a 1996 BioWare game with mechs.
Then there’s also these tweets from RPS:
Latest Bio-tweet translates to -128.5°F. Which is the coldest temperature ever recorded on Earth. Vostok, Antarctica on July 21, 1983
There is a system called Vostok in Mass Effect 1
So is it for Mass Effect? Shattered Steel? At this point only BioWare knows and they’re killing us a little.

It’s Quickmark, not a barcode.

@2 Just going by what RPS called it. Will change it because I can’t tell the difference between a Monet and a Morisot.

Maybe -128.5°F is cold enough to shatter steel.

I woulden’t know either were it not for the fact that the people in Sales keep going on about it. Claiming it’s the future.
Then utterly fail to bring in any clients that actually want the damn thing implimented.

It’s a QR code, not Quickmark. Quickmark is the name of a program that allows you to view QR codes.

I’m calling it – it’s a game based on The Thing.

I’ve just been told it’s ME3. But fuck knows, quite frankly.

That would definitely be the least interesting option. Obivously, yay Mass Effect 3, but we already know that’s coming.

@6 if that’s true that’ll give me the oportunity to be anoying to whole bunch of people because everybody here calls it a quickmark.
“No, you’re wrong, it’s a QR code, if you keep calling it the future atleast get the name right.”

Let’s all just call it a squiggly block and be done with it.

Sales’ll never go for that, not enough “synergy” in the name.

Someone on BioWare’s FB page (Mass Effect 2) posted this
””Home of the famous IRON Canyons” “Surface Temp -89C””
http://masseffect.wikia.com/wiki/Aequitas (-89C being about -128.2)
No clue if it is relevant, but this is going to keep people interested and speculating, that’s for sure……….

I quite like well done teasers where there is a way to work out the meaning if you dig far enough. I detest teasers where the actual thing it’s teasing is the bleedin’ obvious (i.e. if it is ME3). It’s tantamount to announcing you are going to make an announcement about a forthcoming announcement.

What’s the point of teasing us with an announcement, we’re already expecting?

@16
No info has been released on it for it one, still waitng for a release date on it, lots of reasons to tease us.

@17 But they’ve said earlier on that the trilogy would end in 2011. I don’t mind being teased by them, but it’s cheap hype.

@11: Even on the Quickmark website they call it QR code. If it has those 3 boxes in the corners it’s a QR code. There are similar looking codes, but they are not used as widely.

MASS of Fe.
Coldest recorded temperature on earth.
Possibilities:
* Mass Effect spinoff, set on earth.
* In Mass Effect 3 you are going to go to earth
* @14 is unto something. One location in ME3 is Aequitas.
* Taking @14 further: Aequitas is the roman god of fair trade. So…Mass Effect Tycoon

Well i doubt it has anything to do with Mass Effect at all since in the teaser trailer on that link it says from Bioware the makers of Mass Effect and Dragon Age, can only see that being something said for a new franchise

It’s Mass Effect 3. Has to be. He’s holding a M-29 Incisor sniper gun in teaser image. It’s obvious. Maybe. Possibly. Could be. I dunno.
