StarCraft II torrented 2.3 million times

Never saw this coming.
TorrentFreak’s reporting that StarCraft II has been pirated a brain-bursting 2.3 million times via BitTorrent.
“The most popular torrent file for this 7.19Gb game has been downloaded 2.3 million times, totalling a massive 15.77 Petabytes,” said the site.
Despite Blizzard’s best efforts to deter piracy by attempting to force players to connect to Battle.Net to play, the game is responsible for the most data move through BitTorrent, apparently ever.
The game was released worldwide on July 27 this year.

yeah ofc some ppl pirated it. what moron would pay 60euros for this? even if it’s starcraft. well maybe some sick ass rich ppl would but not the average guy. as long as they will treat customers as horse poop the customers will not buy their games.

I did wince when I saw the price. It was the same with Black Ops. Went to buy from Steam day one and it was €60: no thanks.
I’m playing SCII at the moment, but it’s a promo from Blizzard. For what it’s worth, it’s absolutely superb, but yeah, it’s a lot of money.

Paid 90 euro for the collectors editions, totaly worth it. But then again I’m mostly a console guy and used to paying 60 euro for a game.

I am pretty sure Reach and COD have pirated more than SC2

Oh who cares… those two million torrents wouldn’t have bought it anyway and it’s not like the game didn’t sell a s**tload anyway.

It’s worth it, how you could not pay 50 Euro for this is a good question.
Compare it to a movie and see how many hours of entertainment you get from the game

i can see why alot of people did download it. Today, you simply cant believe the hype and this game does NOT deserve the high review scores.
Its not ground breaking, doesnt re-invent the genre. It’s simply a stale ol’ RTS at a silly price.
