Risen undergoes Steam sale, runs out of keys

risen

Deep Silver’s apologised on its forums after running out of keys for Risen on Steam.

The RPG was half-price on Steam over the weekend for £9.99, down from £19.99. The offer is still on until 6.00pm GMT tonight.

But the sale turned out to be even too successful for Deep Silver, who ran out of keys for players to get for their copy. DS said it experienced an “unexpected ‘tsunami of orders’ which nobody could anticipate in such a magnitude.”

Deep Silver’s promised that more keys will be available today.

Thanks. BigDownload and D’Toid.

@1 Because Steam will only get so many, some will go to other companies and retailers.

BTW They now have more keys :)

Amazing that a digital distribution-game can be out of stock…

Anyhoo, it’s a fantastic RPG, so those who bought it have a lot of fun to look forward to.

I wonder how many people who bought it digitally notice it had Tages DRM?

The same thing happened to King’s Bounty Crossworlds on GamersGate. I had to wait about a day to get a key.
