Alan Wake hitting Games on Demand

alanwakelogo

Microsoft is to release Remedy psychological thriller Alan Wake on its Games on Demand service next week, as noted by Major Nelson this past Thursday.

The critically acclaimed title will be available for download at the reduced price of £19.99, starting from November 23.

Alan Wake was only release six months previous, so this becomes possibly the quickest game-to-download transition yet by Microsoft.

The last piece of DLC for Alan Wake, The Writer, was released last month, you can pick it up here for 560 MS points.

Read our interview with Remedy MD Matias Myllyrinne about the game and its subsequent DLC here.

Thanks, Prof.Dr.Moertel (via MCV).

Any news about a PC version?

I know Alan Wake wasn’t all that popular, but a PC version on Games For Windows Live would be a deal-maker for a service everybody thinks is totally irrelevant.

I’ve never played it, but since it is from Remedy (and they did a very good job on Max Payne 2) I thought about giving it a try…

they can’t make sequel on PC without playing the first one .. unless they make alan wake 2 completely not related to the first one and that kinda impossible .

This’ll answer the PC thing: there isn’t.

As for the game, I loved it. In my top three for this year, although Black Ops is edging closer to breaking it.

It´s hard to decide whether it´s Alan Wake or Fable 3 I like most this year.

I just bought Alan Wake XBL code off of Ebay. Well worth the $19.

This showcases how much of an abject failure the game has been financially and critically as well; it hasn’t even been half a year and it’s already in the discount categories. Mafia II will follow in its wake as well.

Alan Wake is a type of game there is way to little of on consoles. I realy hope we wil see Alan Wake 2 in a near future…..with no doubt one of the best games of 2010 for me personaly :)
