Insta-fail. This video has made me realise exactly how bad Kinect really is. Those missed voice commands are really unacceptable.

I have a Kinect and its not bad at all.
Sonic Free Riders however is. Look at the GT review of it.

Games like Dance Central work extremely well on it and I have it myself and it’s loads of fun(and I HATE DANCING).

That looked pretty craptacular.

A direct comparison would be kungfu riders for Move. Abysmal, practically unplayable game for a controller that fundamentally works correctly.

@10 Dance Central is fun but you aren’t actually the controller,more like playing “Simon Says” kind of game.Which is pretty much every launch title.

@16: Except for Kinectimals and Kinect Sports and almost all the others you mean? (Where you’re in direct control of an avatar / pointers which you use to hit things / kick things / jump things etc etc)

@17 Most of the launch titles prompt you others less than Dance Central.They do not have the real freedom of you being the controller

The only other games which have you copying what something is doing on screen are Dance Masters and Fitness Evolved (which has you copying about half the time, with the other half being target based cardio stuff).

Everything else is gesture based or free form.

Don’t tar all kinect games with the same brush. The tech works, that has already been conclusively proven.

As a parallel the same technology teething troubles can be seen on other systems.
