Kinect creative lead Kudo Tsunoda has told the BBC that the Star Wars Kinect title, coming from Ghostbusters devs Terminal Reality, will release next christmas.

“We have a Kinect Star Wars game coming out for next holiday [Christmas 2011],” he told NewsBeat.

“I think you could just easily imagine being a Jedi and using Kinect to make you feel you’re part of a Star Wars experience, building yourself up into a Jedi.

“I’ve seen a bunch of the game and it’s super compelling.”

The title was unveiled at E3, but has since gone underground.

Tsunoda also reiterated that a Kinect version of Forza Motorsport is coming next year from Turn 10, although not much else was said on it.

“And another one next year is Forza, which is the best racing game of this generation of consoles… Those are the two games I’m most excited about.”

Tsunoda told VG247 at the UK launch party for Kinect last night the tech for the motion camera has its origins dating back as far as ten years.

Kinect launches today in the UK following a US launch last week.

Honestly would rather play a Star Wars game using Move than Kinect, i just can’t imagine Kinect tracking me well enought to play properly, & i fear it’ll be a corridor styled game, your character moving all by himself, atleast with the dualshock or sub controller you can still have the freedom to move.
& quite the ego with: “Forza, which is the best racing game of this generation of consoles” bet he can’t say that in a couple of weeks when Gran Turismo 5 is finally released. I’ll pretty pretty angry if Gran Turismo falls anything short of excellent after the countless delays.

I’d rather not play a Star Wars game at all, tbh.

Cant imagine battling it out on a Star Wars game without anything to hold on to …. as the great Kevin Butler once said “What is this, third grade” ?

Que? Forza Kinect? Does that involve running around the circuits rather than driving around them in a car?

Toy Lightsabers are a bit rubbish these days regardless. Kids have Nerf guns now, they’re infinitely more fun! Hokey religions and ancient weapons are no match for a good blaster at your side, kid.
