Battle.net may eventually include Activision games, but not any time soon

Battle.net project director Greg Canessa has said someday, Blizzard may add Activision games to the service, but for now, it’s all Blizzard and nothing else.
Speaking with Gamasutra, Canessa said Blizzard and Activision are two separate entities, and it really does “its own thing”.
“There are huge opportunities in front of us with new games, with licensing opportunities, with movies, and other things we have going on, and the risk is that we get distracted off of what we’re really good at, which is making kick-ass entertainment experience,” said Canessa. “So, for today, it’s Blizzard games.
“Someday, maybe we’ll add other titles in there. Who knows? When we really feel like we’ve really delivered that kick-ass set of experiences for Blizzard games, and we feel like we’ve grown the team — and you’ve heard some of my challenges growing the team and finding the talent — when I’ve got that sustainability, when we really feel like we’ve got that dialed in and nailed down, you know, who knows what the future holds.”
For now, there’s just Blizzard game, and the over 65K maps and mods users have created for StarCraftII.

@4 I hear Activision have got Bungie working on a new sci-fi fps called “Call of Starcraft: Curse of the Blood Moon” or sumfin. Should be epic

@6 Well yeah its bullshit, but a fps set in that universe would be a new ip wouldn’t it? Bungie have been talking to the Starcraft devs & it would spawn sequals aplenty. And we all know how Activision likes to milk a franchise.

No its not a completely new IP its using Blizzards IP and reskinning it as a FPS.

@8 So you say, but I’d be more surprised if this didn’t happen and you can’t believe Activision hasn’t placed this idea on the table.

First Bungie stated they were looking for a publisher for their new game, Activision liked what they saw and bought the contract for the IP. Activision doesn’t own Bungie just the concept that they were working on.

Battle.net went down during the MLG Grand Finals last night. Battle.net is a fail and no lan is an ignorant move that they better back off of soon.

Well I guess the servers were not down themselves, but some point in between the tournament center and the bnet servers were down. Still the fault of blizzard for not including lan.
