Morhaime: SCII users have created over 65K maps and mods for the game

Getting bored with StarCraft II yet? Of course you're not, but if you're in the mood for a bit of a switcheroo, you may want to check out the 65,000 user created maps and mods for the game.

During last night's financial call to investors, Blizzard bossman Mike Morhaime dropped the vast sum, and stated all had been uploaded onto Battle.net. And the 65K up on offer are just from North America alone. Likely, some of these will end up on the Marketplace once it goes live so folks can make a bit of money in the process.

The firm plans to release its own sampling of StarCraft II maps and modes during the next few months, but we doubt the amount will compare with user created ones. Blizzard has two expansions to work on for the game, after all.

Still, it sounds like there's going to be more than enough content to keep you occupied for a while to come.
