Romero linked to dubious Facebook app company

Oldschool id Software

John Romero hasn’t had the best decade-or-so. At one time the biggest name in games development, the Doom designer exited then all-conquering id Software to head up his own uber project. Sadly, that project was Daikatana, an overblown, overhyped and ultimately mediocre FPS whose development went down in games lore as one of the biggest fiascos of all time.

New Last Story trailer puts emphasis on the “story” part

laststory

It’s been months since we last saw hide or improbably spiky hair of Hironobu Sakaguchi’s The Last Story, but the Wii RPG’s finally back – and it’s still looking so pretty that other Wii titles may as well be running on Etch-and-Sketches. The eye candy du jour? A heaping helping of cut-scenes.

Full Professor Layton vs. Phoenix Wright trailer is the most implausible thing you’ll ever see

laytonvswright_1

So there’s this girl who looks like Little Red Riding Hood, and she’s a witch. Or maybe she’s not a witch. Anyway, Professor Layton – who we still say looks like a Lego man – starts accusing her, only for Phoenix Wright to show up and point his finger with such fiery intensity that Layton reconsiders. We think. And then they go on adventures, and Little Red Riding Hood gets chased by the KKK.

So basically, this looks incredible. Check out the first trailer after the break, courtesy of the official Layton vs. Wright website.

Shogun off better AI?

No longer, apparently.
