New 360 dashboard update out tomorrow

Looks nice. Good to see they actually want to refine the dashboard after they changed… Still wondering how much better the chat channel will be.

Some people will glad to know that it’s a lot faster.

The Marketplace is also a lot easier to navigate. You still get the stupidly long line of music game downloads amongst the addons, but the amount of stuff shown now has been increased heavily, so it’s not as big a problem.

Oh good, so my two biggest problems with it at least semi-solved.

Does this mean I don’t need to download an update EVERY FUCKING TIME I SWITCH ON MY 360 now.
Wouldn’t have signed up for the beta if I’d known I have to DL it ever single time. Even saving my settings doesn’t seem to work.

@8 That’s a bit of an over-exaggeration. You only needed to update it when they changed it, and it most certainly wasn’t “every single time you switched on your 360″, unless you only switched it on once a week or something.

The whole damn point of a beta is to test out different features. A beta isn’t supposed to be foolproof straight off the bat. You’re meant to be there to help, not get special privileged access to something, so quit your complaining.

It improves the quality of the headset sound too, right?

@10 The sound quality of Party Chat and voice messages have been improved, but I haven’t tried them out for myself so I can’t say how big of a difference it is.

In game and private chat quality is exactly the same.

Why would I make shit like that up? I wasn’t expecting any special privileges and do understand the meaning of beta.

@12 And I’m simply stating a fact. It wouldn’t have updated your machine “every single time” you switched it on, unless you were only turning your machine on every couple of days, in which case that’s completely understandable.

For the first two weeks of the beta, they only launched *one* update. It’s only near the end of it that they were updating it every second day or so.

Someone needs to take a chill pill, because I ain’t the one here throwing insults around. Or getting upset because of a beta requiring regular updates…

RE Piracy: Apparently whatever system they were using in the past isn’t as effective as it used to be. I think the particular game in question that pirates were having trouble getting working was Fable 2.

I don’t know how far the issue extends beyond that. I don’t pirate. That’s what little I know about the issue, and it might be wrong.
