Nintendo to hold 3-day 3DS public event in Japan next year

3ds3

Nintendo president Satoru Iwata has confirmed the company is to hold a three-day public event in Japan to demo 3DS.

It'll take place between January 8-10, 2011 at the Makuhari Messe, the location of Tokyo Game Show and where Nintendo held its 3DS press conference last month.

Iwata said in a special video on the Japanese Nintendo website to announce the event that trying to convey gamers to the tech's 3D visuals was one of the main reasons the event was being held.

There are no other plans to hold such other big events in Japan at least, but Nintendo does have plans in place to give players in other parts of the country the chance to try out 3DS before its release next year.

More details will come shortly.

3DS launches in Japan on February 26, 2011. It'll release in the US and Europe in March.

Thanks, Andriasang.
