Garry's Mod moves over 770K units lifetime

Garry Newman has revealed to Kotaku that his Source Engine mod, otherwise known as Garry's Mod, has sold over 770,628 units since it's release.

Newman released the mod in 2004, and during it's first two years on Steam following its November 2006 release it moved 312,541 copies.

At $10 a pop since hitting Steam (it was free before then), that's a lot of cash for Newman, and a lot of enjoyment for gamers.

According to Newman, he makes $5 when the game is bought on its own and $2.50 when bundled, so it's safe to say he has made over $1 million in recent years. It was figured he made $3 million just two years ago. He wont' say either way.

It's great when an indie does good. Bravo Garry!
