Namco and Ninja Theory announced details on the first bit of DLC for Enslaved: Odyssey to the West starring Pigsy and it also adds 3D to the game.

Called Pigsy’s Perfect 10, as previously stated by the developer, it’s a side story where players take on the role of Pigsy and can be played in 3D along with the original game.

Here’s the blurb:

Pigsy, the comical porcine character known for his one-line zingers and questionable hygiene, finally gets his time in the spotlight. The Titan Graveyard is a lonely place and Pigsy really needs some companionship beyond the mechs that roam the area. He dreams of the perfect woman and embarks on a mission to build one from scratch using scrap parts he finds around the junkyard. In contrast to the main game which features strong, capable Monkey as the playable character, Pigsy is much more of a lover than a fighter. Pigsy’s gameplay will have a completely different gameplay dynamic, with a focus on stealth and sharp-shooting. He has plenty of tricks up his sleeves including a far-reaching hookshot, trusty sniper rifle, various grenades and devices, Trouble Vision eye piece and the aid of his trusty mechanical sidekick Truffles

The new DLC also includes a TriOviz update, enabling all aspects of Enslaved to be experienced in 3D, providing you have a 3D-enabled television. If you do not have a TV that supports the technology, Stereo 3D vision will be available on all 2D HDTV sets through the use of TriOviz INFICOLOR 3D glasses which will be made available for purchase this fall.

Pigsy’s Perfect 10 DLC will be released later this year on XBL for 800 MSP and PSN for $9.99.

Just met Pigsy in the game.

I want to see the story through to the end… but the gameplay is becoming tiresome, and I HATE Trip.

Does the DLC add 3D to the 360 version?

No reason why it shouldn’t, it sounds like the same system as used in Arkham Asylum and that worked on the 360 without issue.

Will the 3D thing be available to all or just the people who buy the DLC???

Same system used to create the second image but different delivery mechanism. Archam Asylum doesn’t do 3DTV just anaglyph like with coloured glasses. The TriOviz system is also not ‘proper’ 3d but is a decent approximation. It uses 2d + depth info to create the second image, which can be very efficient and low impact. I suspect – like Black Ops – the rendering for a 3D tv will be side by side or top and bottom squashed into a 720p or 1080i signal on both platforms.

Incidentally I hear Black Ops is side by side for the 360 and top and bottom for the PS3 for 3D. Suggests they are simply using the split screen render and scaling too – could be a nasty result.
