Chillingo’s ZeptoLab’s iPhone title Cut the Rope has been download 2 million times from the App Store.

The game only launched three weeks ago. Within that time, publisher Chillingo has been bought by EA.

“Cut the Rope continues to break records with leading, international sales,” said co-GM of the publisher, Chris Byatte.

“Our new partnership with EA enables us to expand Om Nom’s prospects, visibility and reach to make more of an impact than ever before.”

Efim Voinov, CTO of ZeptoLab added: “Chillingo has done a great job for us in publishing Cut the Rope on the Apple App Store. Now with their acquisition by EA, we see more growth opportunities available for us in the future.”

Cut the Rope is now available here for 59p.

It’s an ingenious little game, great value for 59p, easier than angry birds

@2 Yes, I agree, although it would have to keep up and track properly when you are trying to cut rope, burst bubbles and blow air all at the same time.
