Blizzard has sent over word of a digital pre-sale for Cataclysm going on via Battle.net.

By pre-ordering the expansion digitally, it will get you ready to "play the minute the servers go live".

Once you complete the digital pre-sale process on Battle.net, your account will be "lagged for automatic access to Cataclysm" when it launches at 12:01am PST on December 7. You will need to long into World of Warcraft at least once prior to December 7 to begin the background-downloading process and prepare for Deathwing’s return, though.

If paying by credit card, it will be charged on the day that you place your pre-order, and the first time you log in after pre-ordering, your account will become eligible to receive the Cataclysm data when it’s available.

The data will then automatically be download in the background while you play WoW or while you have the Launcher window open.

Pre-sale of Cataclysm is available in the following regions, with "realms scheduled to launch at the following times":

  • Americas, Australia, New Zealand, and Southeast Asia - December 7 at 12:01am PST
  • Europe and Russia - December 7 at 12:01am CET
