Minecraft developer Markus “Notch” Persson has confirmed the formation of a new company, ongoing work on the game and intention to move into new offices early next year.

Persson said over the weekend that papers have been prepared for current employees to sign, with a new office looking set to be sorted this week.

“Woo! We had a meeting today where we signed the final papers for the new company! All the details are worked out, everyone is on board, and things are looking good! Woo! Employment contracts have been drafted and prepared for everyone,” he said.

He also confirmed the game would be getting the option to buy from a credit card after its upcoming Halloween update, and that he’s signed up to a “DDoS protection service” after he was recently attacked by disgruntled users.

Sandbox sensation Minecraft allows players to mould a woody world as they see fit while hitting cows for armour.

There’s more info through his blog.

This game is probably the best 15 dollars i’ve ever spent, it’s endless fun. I’m surprised that a game is this good and it’s still on Alpha stage c:

Agree. It’s the indie hit this year.

It’s incredible and they sold a lot of copies without any marketing.
