@4 If you rent it you can still play online MP, it just works like BFBC2 where you get free DLC if you use the code

@1 these cod games always build off of the previous installment. As long as they keep the gameplay solid (which it looks like they have) I’m in. Plus black ops is bringing a lot of new things to the game with the customization and gameplay tweaks like the removal of stopping power and wager matches/cod points.

@ reask: yea no problem online. bought it and didn´t redeem code because i wanted to sell it again with code unused – what i already did… that way i only lost/paid 10 euros but played the game for like 10h or so-was worth that imo. game is alright but not great. mp is fun but the game looks unpolished and somehow unready to me. most reviews are true. a shame because there is a lot of potential..a lot of technical flaws as well. still fun. would rent first or wait for sale.

@20 you are crazy. Infinity ward made a fucked cod with mw2. Where does this hate for treyarch come from? Also, imo world at war was better than cod4, the level design, gun mechanics, everything.

On top of that treyarch supported their game much better than IW with numerous double xp weeks and more maps.

WaW > MW = you are crazy. Maybe DLC wise to keep the cow milking, but naming MW2 fucked is funny, because story and MP wise, its really not my cup of tea. Although I have to admit that its pretty blockbusterish campaign and the short run and gun MP took it to the top and Treyarch still have to prove, with any given engine, to make:

A. a better campaign
B. a better MP (real innovations)
C. expand the limits of the given engine and tools and simple make a better CoD gameplay, story and graphicswise

That ABC is what I see, when I look at Treyarch CoD.

MW was the first war game to take place in modern combat, with modern guns. That was groundbreaking for the genre.

29 so anything good now has to be “groundbreaking” i disagree. WaW built off of cod4 and made it better. Just because it’s set in WW2 doesn’t mean it’s not a better game. Treyarch did EVERYTHING better in world at war. They had better map design,more fluid animation, did I say better map design? Better gun handling, plus the little things like lobby leaderboards, nemesis comparisons and, like stretch said, more support. I remember there being double xp weekends (weeks) at LEAST once a month maybe more.Cod4 had one map pack and maybe 1 or 2 double xp weekends. Look at mw2, 2 double xp weekends and two map packs with RECYCLED maps in them. Cod4 was groundbreaking and great for it’s time, but not as good as WaW, in my honest opinion.

Maybe. But they still had the same clunky AI and invisible walls as in CoD3. And shure, most people buy the CoD series for MP. I do not. As for the future of FPS maybe there must be two offerings. A SP/Coop-Campaign and another Version MP only. Sold separately, each reduces costs, gains better metascores and will make everyone happy.

Btw. Hard to tell the fluid animations on the stiff germans.

@31 I totally agree. If they were to put the singleplayer/co-op separate from the mp they could devote more space to each. Which would be AWESOME, and hopefully not that far off. Agreed on the germans as well

I thought WAW campaing was way better than COD4 campaign.
I also thought the multiplayer was better in WAW.
I dont see where the hate for treyarch comes from either. They do a great job of building off of Infinity Wards work. Actually, that would be the only question. Would Treyarch be as good as they are without having IW foundation to build from?
