EA Sports has just announced renown US tennis player Venus Williams will be a "brand ambassador" to EA Sports Active 2 in the US.

Venus, who has dominated the sport alongside her sister Serena, is the latest star to promote the game alongside David Beckham, who was announced at gamescom to be an ambassador to the fitness title for Europe and UK.

"What I love about EA SPORTS Active is that it offers a variety of workouts that are both challenging and fun, which is important to keep me motivated," said Williams.

"I'm excited to be working with EA SPORTS to show others that you can be active and reach your fitness goals while having fun at the same time."

VP of product strategy for EA Sports Active, Jon Slavet, added: "Venus is one of the most recognizable, popular and accomplished tennis players in the world; her success can be attributed to both her talent as well as her dedication to fitness.

"Her commitment to healthy living and ability to inspire others makes her a natural fit for EA SPORTS Active 2."

EA Sports Active 2 will launch on November 16 in the US and November 19 for Wii, PS3 and 360 via Kinect.
