Alan Wake: The Writer now available on Live

Microsoft’s now listed the final piece of DLC for Alan Wake, The Writer, on Xbox Live Marketplace.
The DLC, which weighs in at 477Mb, will cost you 560 MS points.
Queue it up to download to your 360 here.
For the record, we played The Writer over the weekend. It’s very good, innit. Give it a bash.
Watch a trailer for it here.
And then wait for Alan Wake 2.

I think I’ll probably get this, the last piece of DLC was actually pretty good.
Plus I haven’t actually paid a penny for any of my Alan Wake experience so far, so I’m feeling a bit guilty.

You should! I finished both pieces of DLC over the weekend and combined, I thought they were brilliant!

Does it wrap the story up nicely?

I’ll say what I said at the weekend in that other piece, and its similar to what Remedy have said before in the past: it wraps up the arc for Alan Wake 1 nicely, but leaves doors open for Alan Wake 2.

Think I’ll wait for the inevitable GoTY edition with all the DLC packed in before I get this game.

I dunno if you’ll ever see one of those in this case, Gheritt. The game didn’t sell particularly well to begin with, the first bit of DLC was free and this is the final bit. It’d be nice to see it get a second chance, though.

Do they explain where all the coffee thermoses came from? I look at this the same way i looked at UC 1, AC 1, ME 1, basically its a very flawed game but the sequel could be something special like those games follow ups were, and for god sake i hope Alan Wake stops talking to himself.

No. They’re just random collectables, like the alarm clocks in The Signal.
For The Writer, it’s the “Bright Falls” videogame.

@ 16 i was being sarcastic
I mean leaving 100 of those just lying around was pointless and a bit silly within the context of the story line.

Alan’s a writer. Obviously he drinks a “metric fuck-ton” of coffee.

Well, I know that I’ve enjoyed playing through Alan Wake enough to part with my money for this one and revisit Bright Falls on both DLC packages.
Here’s to hoping there’s a sequel down the line!

That’s not a spoiler as such. It was at the end of the main game and The Signal as well.
That said, for those who haven’t seen, I’d take it out.
@17 – My sarcasm detector seems to have broken down today.

cullen you lied
it leaves it open for a sequel yes but thats because its a total cliffhanger! Now i’m pissed a cliffhanger to a sequel that will never come and in general a disappointing game =(
