Castlevania: LoS 360 demo goes live

Konami’s released the 360 demo of Castlevania: Lords of Shadow in the run-up to its release this week.
The demo comes in at 2Gb to download. Get it queued up here.
The PS3 version has been out for the past two weeks, first for PlayStation Plus members and then opened up to all last week on the PS Store.
Castlevania: Lords of Shadow releases in the US tomorrow, and launches in the UK on Friday for PS3 and 360.

I wonder if this will have the same frame rate issues as the PS3 version. I might get it on 360 if it doesnt because the slow downs were definitely annoying. Other than that, its a great game and looking forward to playing it since im probably not going to get Medal of Honor now.

There seem to be a few people saying the slowdowns are worse on the 360. Digital Foundry tweeted earlier that their comparison of the final versions will be up tomorrow, though – you could wait for that and see what they say.

I will wait for Digital Foundry. In the gamespot review there was some slowdown for the 360 version but Cox said it would be not in the final release.

No slowdown for me in the 360 demo. Also surprised it got such low review from same places, from what i’ve played so far it’s definately on the level as GoW 3. It’s twice as long according to most reviews too.

I’ve heard that the 360 version is the one that suffers from slow down.
Which is a shame as I’m between PS3s right now, so i’ll be renting the 360 version.

Demo is fantastic IMO. Can’t wait to buy this game tomorrow at Kmart and get my $20 coupon towards future purchase.

I still don’t understand why is this game a part of the series, it has nothing to do with Castlevania.

Just tried the 360 demo and I must say that the PS3 demo ran a lot smoother and was way darker ( which I like ). In the 360 demo I could really notice the drop in frames. Played them both 2 times in a row to be sure.

Just got done playing them both in a row too.
Both have the same issues while the 360 has slightly better AA but with a lot more frequent FR drops. The PS3 version has better color depth and effects but a little more jaggies.
Umm….shit…i dont know which version to get. Got to wait and see what you guys say about the final product. Im kinda digging the better AA in the 360 version but the FR issue is a deal breaker. I am also digging the better overall graphics of the PS3 version but the AA is a problem for me as well. SHIT!!! lol.

Got the xbox version on the way from amazon. Hopefully doing a install will help with any slowdown. I recomend everyone to do an install on the xbox if you can.
Hopefully they will patch it shortly. I have a big backlog as it is so a few days wont hurt.

Here and there but less frequent than the xbox verion. But thats in the demo…I know IGN showed a video for the 360 version and it showed lots of slow downs in the final build too.

Wasn’t PS3 the primary development system anyway for this title? Usually the “port” gets shafted.

The demo is the one they had at E3 and word has it from people who already have the game that the final build it’s much better. The demo is old.
i was in between,i ordered the ps3 version since gamespot and Ign claim that the 360 version has the framerate issues Cox tried to do some damage control there saying that these issues were only on the review copy and not in the final release.Yeah right, the game had gone gold since the first week of September around the time reviewers must had their copy on their hands
And besides that there have been live feeds of some people playing the retail and many claim that the framerate issues are still there on the 360 but not game breaking.Good one Cox

PS: 360 version comes with 2 discs, one for install and the other for gameplay so no disc swapping and ps3 version comes with 1 disc and no mandatory install

i tried both demos and i never had a single frame rate or slow down issue.if it’s not a constant thing then it shouldn’t really be a big deal.

Can’t wait for the comaparison.
The artistic direction is… Very confusing. Like it’s beautiful, but in stark contrast to God of War 3 (or what I played of it) the camera work is so inappropriately directed to support it.
Everything is so small on screen, there needn’t be the detail that there is; textures and models.
It just makes the picture very harsh, fizzy almost, in unison with aliasing issues.
