Beyond Good & Evil HD releasing next year for PSN and XBLA

Thursday, 30th September 2010 08:57 GMT By Johnny Cullen

Jade’s finally on her way to PS3 and 360, but not in the way you think.

Ubisoft’s releasing a HD version of the original Beyond Good & Evil next year for PSN and Xbox Live Arcade.

The HD version of the game – which released back in 2003 for PS2, Xbox, PC and GameCube – will feature 1080p visuals, makeovers for the character models, polished textures, a re-mastered soundtrack and achievements/trophies, depending on what console you have, as well as online leaderboards.

No other exact date’s been given for the re-release other then just next year.

A sequel has been in and out for the past two-and-a-half years, but is still in development.

Thanks, IGN.

I… er… what? This is all a bit out of the blue, isn’t it?

I hope this is a primer for releasing the proper sequel. I’m not sure I need to play it again, I’ve still got my original PS2 version.

I hope they add inverted Y axis, it’s the only thing stopping me playing this game.

I was like O_O when I seen it in the RSS. Was thinking “is this real?”

Good stuff, though. Never got to play the game proper outside of s demo. Will be sure to pick it up. Hope it helps in getting the sequel out.

Yep same here – that killed the original for me. I would imagine it would need to in order to pass MS QA as this sort of thing is nicely covered in your profile preferences too.

While you’re at it, dump the controller nonsense from the last boss fight. That wasn’t fun, at all.

Oh this is fucking great news as I have never finished the original due to the a power switched being flipped on me during a save point (little brat kids :D )

but this is clearly a test I think. If this sells well Ubi will make a proper sequel right….SO BUY IT PEOPLE! PLEASE!
