4 million 3DS units expected to be sold at launch by Nintendo

3ds3

Nintendo's forcasted it will sell 4 million 3DS units at launch, following its announcement this morning it will launch in February 2011 in Japan.

The prediction came in the company's revised annual financial guidance report, which seen it slash its full-year forcast in more then half to 90 million yen (£679 million).

Nintendo had a massive 3DS blowout this morning, announcing a February 26 release for Japan earlier this morning in Tokyo, with a March release in the US and Europe.

The handheld will cost 25,000 yen (£189) when it releases in the country.
