Raptr report shows Halo: Reach dominating users’ time

Thursday, 23 September 2010 20:45 GMT By Stephany Nunneley

Raptr has issued a report showing just how much time its users have put into Halo: Reach so far, along with other neat user factoids.

The social networking application that tracks games and achievements for users posted many different statistics in its latest blog entry, and we’ve posted the stats below for you.

Halo: Reach completion rates – First week of sales

  • On Normal difficulty – 37.35 percent
  • On Heroic difficulty – 22.29 percent
  • On Legendary difficulty – 11.87 percent

Average total playtime:

  • 23.07 Hours (about 1/3 of players have logged over 30 hours)

Toughest Achievements to unlock

  • Make It Rain – 0.18 percent
  • An Honor Serving – 0.68 percent
  • A Monument To Your Sins – 5.46 percent

Games it’s stolen the most time from:

  • COD: Modern Warfare – playtime dropped 50 percent
  • Halo 3
  • Mass Effect 2
  • Halo3: ODST

Using collected data from users, Raptr concluded Reach has “dethroned Modern Warfare 2 as the most played game on Xbox 360″, which previously held the top spot for 10 months straight.

No telling what the start are coming from non-Raptr users on Xbox Live.

So far, the game has caused a 99 percent upswing in 360 sales, and had the fifth largest launch week ever in the UK.

On the US end, not much has been revealed yet, but MS said during TGS Reach made over $200 million on day one.

Thanks, Evil Avatar.

  1. revolting

Raptr is the greatest thing since sliced bread. I was already using it as a PC gamer for a long time, but the recent cross-plaftform functionality upgrades make in amazing.

The achievements thing is misleading I guess.

Two of those achievements are just rank based, which means you have to put a ton of time in to the game. They’re not “tough” to do, per se. It’s obvious why they’re the least unlocked.

    #3 4 years ago
  4. revolting

@2 It’s great, but as with so many great online things, it’s entirely dependant on how many people you know who also use it. But that said, with the recent cross platform integration kind of over-rides that. (ie. Using Raptr (including the mobile iphone version!) you can chat directly with people on xbox live or steam or whatever, regardless of whether they have Raptr or not. And yes, it actually works. I’m still slightly amazed by that.) Plus in addition to all the gaming stuff, it’s a fully compatable cover-all for any other social apps you might run. (msn, aol, facebook, you name it.)

Potential social limitations aside, though, the cross platform stats tracking alone makes it worthwhile for me. And the in game web browser for PC games, much like steam’s, but not restricted to steam games.

Part of why Reach is dominating peoples playtime is not just how incredibly polished, balanced and addictive the gunplay is, but how comprehensive and diverse the package is as a whole.

There are more game modes in Reach than in any console shooter before it, and what sets it apart is that the game modes are more than just ‘same thing, different objective’. The games play out very differently.

Game modes like Infection where you convert opposing players, and abilities and loadout of infected and non-infected are different.

Modes like Rocket race, Invasion, Juggernaut, Ninjanaut, Headhunter, Firefight, hot potato. All very different games.

It’s got so much variety that you could play for a series of evenings and not repeat a single game mode, plus the customisation is unparalleled. It’s going to stay at the top for a good long while, and deservedly so as its in a completely diferent league to anything that has come before.

What I’d like to know is how much gametime has dropped off on the PS3 since Reach was released. A huge number of primarily PS3 only gamers have migrated to Reach, even fanboys who swore they would never pay for Live are swarming to the online party.

I think Halo killed Erthazus’s puppy. That, or tortured a loved one. Must be, I mean I can’t imagine anyone would get so upset about a game they have no interest in playing otherwise.

    #11 4 years ago
  12. Erthazus

@11 Your mom is upset. I’m playing with fanboy. :D

@DrDamn, seriously get the fuck out of here. These are not GAME Modes, these are different options where you can customize your official Game mode adding some features to it.

Same stuff like in Unreal, but you missed one point, if i’m going to list them from Unreal there will be 10x time more not to mention about famous Aliens Swarm mode from Unreal Tournament 2004 engine.

You obviously started playing with Halo. Of course.

@Gadzooks, go play Halo already. Original game modes await you. :D and don’t forget to wear ANALYPH glasses to play Invincible Tiger 3D on your Xbox 360 because your console supports MORE 3D :D

“BWAHAHAHAAA! Yes, that’s exactly what I was after!”

So much rage, fanboyism and butthurt :D you need to get laid seriously :D

Yeah, but who the FUCK wants to play Unreal Tournament 2004 anymore?

Are you seriously suggesting Unreal Tournament 3 on X360 is *better* than Halo: Reach?

    #13 4 years ago
  14. Psychotext

@12: I just got off the phone with her, she says she doesn’t care either way. She also suggested I tell you to STFU, but that seemed a little rude, so I’m not going to.

    #14 4 years ago
  15. theevilaires

@13 no he’s saying PS3 UT3 is better than the 360 UT3 and Reach :D . Reach is nothing more than RFOM. Nothing special just fun like other well made FPS. When Black Ops comes out you can kiss Reach goodbye pretty much.

Also its a shame that it took this long to make a decent Halo MP where almost anyone can jump in and enjoy it after a few games. Other Halo MP games have seem to always cater to the hardcore but Reach is different in that respect. I Also agree with Erthazus about the game mode thing…..

….but he should know that any delusional XBOT will defend and raise a Halo game to no end without shame. Shame on you Erthazus for falling into that trap. Let the happy XBOT enjoy the only exclusive the XBOX360 got worth while this year. Who are you to stomp on Gadzooks! parade. :D

I don’t know what degenerative brain disease you have, but it seems to be imparing your ability to understand what a fact is.

Here are some facts for you.

    1) Invincible Tiger supports stereoscopic shutter glasses on the 360. Ask DrDamn for confirmation. He has played on his 3DTV, using shutter glasses, on the 360.

    2) Those Halo games modes are out of the box, no modification required. There are a huge number of modification options available though, if you want to create your own game types, or you can use Forge to modify the maps themselves.

    3) You post ill-informed bullshit, are unpleasant and do not belong on a (relatively) mature games site like this.

You are clearly not a fan of games, you are a fan of pseudo-technical argument.

I suspect you are used to trolling around on a website composed of other bullshitters who dont bother to investigate the subject they are bullshitting about, or have been bullshitted to.

Things are different here. You talk shit and you will be brought up on it.

You have bullshitted(bullshat??). You have been shown up.

@18 are you seriously that retarded? THAT ARE GAMETYPES. GAMETYPES. G-A-M-E Fucking T-Y-P-E-S.
Same as in any Unreal game before. They are not Game modes.

Game modes are Rumble Pit, Team slayer, Team objective and e.t.c. Gametypes are RULES for these gamemodes specifically for players who PREFER playing by THESE rules.

Oh My God, that was created long before any Halo game.

What is that supposed to mean? That sentence makes no sense at all.

I think the shame and embarrasment you are experiencing, combined with your choking rage, are preventing you from constructing a coherent sentence.

From your very own link … “In addition, shutter glasses tend to be much more expensive than other forms of stereoscopic glasses. Whereas most anaglyph, ChromaDepth, and polarized 3D glasses can be purchased at very low prices (less than US$1 as of 2010, with anaglyph filters being the least expensive), shutter glasses feature far more advanced technology and usually sell for three orders of magnitude higher than paper anaglyphs and two orders over paper ChromaDepth and polarized glasses, with most models selling for well over US$100, particularly for the standard wireless models.”

True, they are YOUR weak points because this text says that they are by far more expensive, but that does not mean that they don’t feature anaglyph mode. Retard. I have liquid shutter glasses myself long time ago when i purchased Nvidia 3D Vision.

@33 Come on. Don’t you like playing with Fanboys? Just look at them. It’s a big Halo GAY party and when i say something bad about Halo, it’s like there are comments over 9000 full of RAGE :D

There is no DaMan, i’m dissapoint :(

@StolenGlory, yeah i know that i’m wrong on doing it and i understand the situation, but i just can’t resist calling someone retard when he is actually retard. :D Just look at them. Say: “Halo is bad” and thread is over 9000 posts.
I don’t care about my reputation on the internet seriously.

@GW, “bumboy – I bet you fap to Bieber between bouts out StarCrap.”

I’m bumboy? Are you GAY? :D
    I don’t play StarCrap, i play StarCraft :D

    @<assivelaging creature
"Of course it’s a guess, but given that you play StarCraft, WoW and ‘cybersport’"

So Blizzard fans are FAT and GAY? :D Seriously, get a life and stop fapping to Justin Bieber. I think you study a lot about Fat people and their nature y the internet :D You obviously don’t know who i am.
But i know exactly who you are :D Something like This. It’s a prove link :D

    @Gadzooks, "Hey, Erthatwat, "

    itsucks? Is that you? :D

I’ve no problem with arguing so long as there’s more than half a wit on display. The bilge on here is just lazy and boring to read, plus it seems to clog up every bloody article.

If you insist on insulting other users at least put a bit of effort in. People seem to be erring more towards itsucks territory with every passing day.

Opinions you are entitled to. It’s *facts* you seem to have a problem with despite evidence to the contrary.

Half-Life whoops Unreal Tournament’s and Halo’s ass anyways.

@10 All those game modes are great for Halo Reach and i enjoy all of them but the original Half-life alone had 100x that many MP modes lol.

    Half-Life FTW and FTR

  40. Gadzooks!

This is the thing you dont seem to understand: This has nothing to do with Halo. Nobody cares that you dont like Halo. Liking Halo is not the issue. There are plenty of people on this site who regularly say they dont like Halo, and apart from questioning thier taste, no more is made of it.

The problem with you is you bullshit people. You make up wild shit and try to pass it off as fact, when you dont even understand the very subject you are talking about.

It’s blatantly obvious, to anyone with basic reading abilities, that you fundamentally do not understand the first thing about 3D technology. You dont understand how it works, you can’t tell the difference between different glasses technologies, and you sure as hell don’t know which systems can support it.

Yet you still try to talk with authority on the subject.

You are a rediculous bullshitting clown.

@ 39: Half-Life can go suck a dick – sounds like you’d be a good teacher. It’s all about DAIKATANA.

  42. spiderLAW

@41 Hahahahahaha! I remember that failure. It was great.

But no. HALF-LIFE shits on every game in existence.
HAL-LIFE 3 where the hell are you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!???

Edit: Hey, no editing your comment while im replying to it!! LOL
and im sorry Gheritt, no matter how much you beg me to train you in the ways of sucking huge cock, i just cant….i am inexperienced in the matter, but i’m sure “itsucks” can assist you with that :) .

Blimey, when you get mad you’re even harder to understand. Deep breaths now. We wouldn’t want you to have a heart attack brought on by all that microwave food and lack of excercise – not to mention the vitamin B deficiency that you have from never seeing sunlight.

So as you didn’t answer about your mum, does that mean I can have her number? Fancy a little brother or sister Ethazus?

  44. spiderLAW

@43 There is no point in arguing with Erthazus…in his mind, he is always right. And he might be always right too. We can never tell because speaking for myself, i can never understand anything he is saying really lol.

LAW. I know, but it’s fun! Imagining him seething with rage and frothing with barely repressed sexual frustration as he hammers his keys, becoming less and less coherent!

As long as I don’t resort to using the terms fag, butt hurt or gay, I will always retain the moral high ground and have a bloody good laugh!
