Rumor: GameStop lists then pulls Mortal Kombat HD Collection from site
The Mortal Kombat: HD Arcade Kollection, which ShopTo outed back in August, made another appearance today – however brief -over on GameStop’s website.
Listed, found by various folks, and then pulled, the retailer had the title up for pre-order for $39.99 on PS3 and shipping November 16, (via TRMK)
Unlike the listing from UK retailer ShopTo, GameStop didn’t have a description of what will be included in the collection.
We’ll send a mail, but we honestly don’t expect to hear anything back – so keep it as a “rumor” for now unfortunately.
If the November 16 release date is accurate though – along with the rest of this information – expect Warner to make an official announcement sometime before the end of next month.

Why do all HD Collections don’t have anything HD about them? I mean don’t get me wrong. I love the fact that the people who missed the chance to play SotC on the PS2 can play it on PS3 now, but what’s so HD about it? The Framerate doesn’t drop. Wow. The textures and everything else looks the same. I doubt this collection will look anything like Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix.

They should be giving this Kollection away, free, with Corn Flakes, that’s how bad this franchise was. MK always was a poor man’s Street Fighter.
Yanks can’t do Beat em’ Up’s. Period.

The games get rendered properly at 720p rather than simply upscaled – so they look better, and are technically HD. In the case of God of War the framerate saw significant improvement too. It’s a nice way to replay older games, and better than straight backward compatibility in technical terms at least.

@12 2D games can still rendered in HD. Just look at Super Street Fighter II HD on PSN/XBL. 2D and very HD.
Also, for what its worth, I work at GameStop and this game is listed in the database on our computers as well, not just the website.
