Dissidia 012 [duodecim]: Final Fantasy announced for Europe and North America

dissidia012

Square Enix has announced Dissidia 012 [duodecim]: Final Fantasy will be released across Europe and North America in 2011 exclusively on PSP.

The title itself, "duodecim", which means 12th in Latin, refers to the 12th battle between Cosmos and Chaos, which requires new allies, both good and evil, to aide you in battle.

The follow-up to 2008's RPG/beat-em-up Dissidia: Final Fantasy, the game includes an expanded roster with FFXIII's Lightning, FFVII's Tifa and FFIV's Kain, along with new game modes, story missions, a new assist mode, items, alternate costumes and combat features.

More "surprises" and characters are to be revealed in the coming months.

Check out some screens of the game below, and a hands-on over Joystiq.
