Reach Campaign matchmaking next month

Sunday, 19th September 2010 19:28 GMT By Joe Anderson

Halo-Reach-4

Halo Reach Campaign matchmaking may not be available right now, but Bungie’s promised that’s all about to change: it’s being added in early October.

Bungie wasn’t happy to include Campaign matchmaking up to now, mainly because it was worried people would see the ending before they’d even started the Campaign proper, as explained in Bungie’s weekly update.

Although spoiling the game will still be a possibility, Campaign matchmaking will offer all players in the party a vote as to which mission they’ll end up playing, so if you don’t want to play in a mission you haven’t reached in the single player Campaign, you can always opt out.

Bungie says the Campaign matchmaking update for Reach will occur in early next month.

A simple warning message before you start matchmaking would have sufficed… Maybe Bungie were just polishing the netcode or something.

campaign isnt short, try it with every single skull on, on legendary difficulty, and tell me that its short! It took me and a buddy of mine nearly an hour and a half to do the first bloody mission! lol :)

@2: there is matchmaking for firefight. don´t go via the main menue – go to matchmaking and then pick firefight from there. campaign was fun but really wanted more…@6: sure it takes longer when it´s harder (sounds like porn)…but still it´s a short campaign…awesome game though. gameplay is close to perfection. the mp is such a blast…well you all know that anyway.

Lol at the porn comment. You wrongen! And yer, it is undeniably short which is a bit of a shame. Still, I think the characters in this one go far deeper than in any other halo game, you get a real feel for them by the end.

The campaign felt about the right length to me.

Also, I was wondering where the co-op matchmaking function was. Glad to know I’m not going crazy. :)

Campaign is indeed a bit short (heroic). But its packed and beautifully arranged. Could have two levels more, though. I now go through it on legendary and the fights are damn tough. The squadmates are incapable of driving a hog properly, that makes it even tougher :-D

Squadmate UI is a bit crap, tbh. Especially in the final level, where the whole point is for your teammate to draw the enemy fire (which he outright says), and then he proceeds not to do it.
