First Michael Jackson: The Experience trailer demonstrates how you will (not) play

Ubisoft’s put out a trailer for the Wii version of Michael Jackson: The Experience, and while it does technically demonstrate what playing the game will entail, it does so in a way we can’t quite see ourselves replicating. For one, we don’t even think our living room – which you may have seen on the cover of Sardine Can Monthly’s most recent issue – has room for that many people. Also, we have no friends.

Now then, while we sob and ponder where we went wrong in life, you should totally check out the trailer. It’s neato!

Thanks, Siliconera.

If this is going to work its going to be on Kinect.

This Wii version just looks a bit sh1t.

It’s basically Just Dance Mickael Jackson, it’s gonna work on Wii, but on Kinect wait and see what changes in the gameplay.

This isn’t really learning the Michael Jackson moves, its the routines. (Thriller, Beat it etc) There is no way this is going to teach you to moonwalk, side slide etc. Also them smiling the unreal smile while playing a game is just bad!

From what I recall seeing, this basically works the same was as Dance Evolution (not Dance Central) on the Kinect by comparing a visual image of you to the pose of the dance move at regularly intervals.

Unlike Harmonix, whose focus across all their games has been to teach in the process of play, has Ubisoft ever actually claimed that this would teach you the moves?

But hey, I’ve spent about 20 years dancing to Michael Jackson’s music, so I honestly can’t wait to play this!

If I am still and only move the arm, I suppose that the game will work equally in Wii, the royal experience will be with Kinect.
