Rumour – Team ICO Collection out March-April for “around” £25, “box-art” appears

The much-rumoured Team ICO Collection is set to release at some point between March and April for “around £24.99,” according to Eurogamer.

Over the weekend, US retailer Walmart had the package, consisting of the developer’s PS2 titles ICO and Shadow of the Colossus, up for pre-order for a what is most likely a placeholder date of April 1.

EG’s been told the collection will be available to pre-order from UK retailers “in the next few days,” which implies we’re going to get an announcement this week at Tokyo Game Show.

Looks like there’s some box art for the game floating around too, if it’s real and not a fan mock up. Still, check it out over on Examiner.

VG247 was first told of the collection back in May, followed up a further report claiming it would be released in Q1 2011.

“We don’t comment on rumour or speculation,” SCEE told EG.

The next title from Team ICO, The Last Guardian, will be shown to press this week in Japan during TGS.

i could put ico and sotc on ebay to pay for this i guess =/

  8. zoopdeloop

@6 except these aren’t actually a trilogy like GoW is.Totally different and indepentent games with each other.
They could have them all three in one disc at some point later on though

  9. Blerk

If they’re smart they’ll offer these individually as digital downloads as well.

@9 true dat, i’ve no real interest in playing through ico again…unless they’ve rebuilt the game making the environments ten times more interesting…which they haven’t as its 25 pounds

:/ maybe i’d play it again if they put in 100 collectible thermos flasks

Team Ico games need more collectibles, thats what i say….and sexy robot alternate outfits

I’d play these again in HD. Given their style I’d argue the games would be improved just by HD graphics alone – although a better framerate in SOTC would be nice, too.

@7 Ico alone is worth more than the cost of the collection, save them dude :)

I’m glad these games are not fading away, I think some of todays dev studios need a wee lesson in creativity, playing these would deliver that imo.

Hopefully Team Ico will incorporate some really creative trophies. I hope we get some more news this week at TGS.

@18 – Trophy for never making Yorda run? Or holding her hand for X amount of time? I think these titles should have some interesting ones.

I found out sales data for Ico recently and it didnt actually sell that bad. 700k worldwide pretty impressive.

It makes me sad that it’s that low, tbh. Truly an utterly glorious game in every single respect. I love it.

Given that it floated pretty low under the radar that’s a pretty decent number.

Unfortunately by the time I got to the party I had to go 2nd hand, but I managed to get both games in their original cardboard sleeves with the art cards intact and in good condition.

@mington Leave Shadow of the Colossus out of it, fruits and lizards and towers were without a doubt in that game and a massive inspiration for Crackdown. No question the most popular collectionism game this generation.

    #28 4 years ago
  29. mington

Shadow of the Colossus needs a cover system, and a floating arrow pointing the way to your next destination, and the protagonist should speak making witty quips like Nathan Drake.

I’m just trying to drag these games kicking and screaming into the current generation

Just threw a link into the original post that leads to some “supposed” box art for it. Could be a mock up made by a fan, but it’s there anyway.

The background logo on the box art looks like the Mortal Kombat logo…

Or a Jackie Chan Adventures talisman.

There are two fantastic Sony created box arts on that boxart ;)

    What would you consider good?

    JUST REMEMBERED!

It’s got to be fake, remember the new ‘Classics HD’ header that’s on the Sly Collection?: http://tinyurl.com/36wsco5
